The atmosphere is great
The food wasn’t neither were the drinks
The skinny margarita claims to be made with agave but I can easily tell there was simple syrup in it, u can easily know the difference.
The people who work there are nice, our group just didn’t get a good feel for the drinks or food.
It’s nice to sit outside and listen to music
The drinks are about $17-22 each appetizers about 10-15 so it’s not going to be for the ones who are looking for an economical spot. Seems like you’re paying more for the place and atmosphere than the food
It was so nice eating outside. We ordered a steak burrito. It was big, flavored perfect for for us. Chips and medium spice salsa were yummy and we got unsweetened ice tea. Perfect place to eat when fun shopping in old town.
We stopped by for a drink while visiting the old town. They have a Tequilla Taster special, 3 shots of a variety of Tequila's. Since we were not in anyway Tequila experts, we sked our server his recommendation and we went for the Favorite pack. I have to say that this brought back some college memories! The Tequila was great, all 3 of them shots. We didn't eat there so I can't say about the food but the service and Tequila were A+.
I came here with my family the day after Thanksgiving and was drawn to this restaurant that had live music nearby. It took them over an hour to bring out our food. I ordered the chicken sopes with rice and beans, and I was super disappointed with all of it. Everything lacked flavor! The only thing I liked was the salsa. The prices were very high especially considering the quality of food. They did give us a 20% discount for taking a long time, but it still didn't make up for the less than average food. Side note: good luck if you need to use the restrooms. The only restrooms available are in a centralized area and you can expect a line.
We have lived here for 30 years and never experienced this restaurant. We were walking through old town and heard great authentic live Mexican music and walked over. Ended up really enjoying the entire atmosphere and cocktails and our waiter Diego was awesome and really represented this restaurant well. If I were the owner, I would be very ecstatic to have an employee like this. As a local small business owner, I know how hard it is to find quality people and Diego is absolutely one of them. Come enjoy this hidden gem in old town.
Food was great, and the one man band performer was awesome. Service was awful. My wife had to ask 3 or 4 times for water.
"Family style" only if you cook your families food in the microwave. Food was lukewarm, and it looked/tasted like it was reheated. We had to continually ask for things such as water refill, condiments, etc. Food was highly overpriced, $26 for this plate of nachos.
I love this restaurant I've been there before. They normally have life music playing. Unfortunately the last time I was there it was one of the days where San Diego decided to let it Pour rain. So I missed out on the entertainment but the food made up for it. If you're going to go to Old Town for dinner make sure you go a little bit early if you have reservation so you can find a parking spot. There are few and far between and the parking lots get filled up quick.
